Igreja de Santa Cruz, Coimbra

The Igreja de Santa Cruz is the resting place of Afonso Henriques and of his son, Sancho I. It was founded as a monastery in 1131 by Afonso Henriques when he moved his court from Guimarães to Coimbra. Masses continue to be celebrated daily.
