Lisboa, July 2-6, 2021
I spent three days in Lisbon and visited the Castelo de São Jorge, the Jardim de Mário Soares in Campo Grande, and on the third day the Carmo convent, all of which have statues and remembrances of Afonso Henriques, inspired by his conquest of Lisbon in 1147. I also visited the Cathedral, built over a former mosque, with the construction /conversion beginning soon after the conquest.
